On March 15th, a large artificial object was sighted breaching into geosynchronous orbit with a periapsis almost directly over Marsilion. The object is several hundred meters across, and has some manner of energy field surrounding it. Attempts to communicate with it are met with silence...

A mechanoid hive has breached into orbit above Marsilion and is launching raids at the surface! The mechanoids don't seem keen on directly assaulting Marsilion, but are targeting outlying areas for resources. The mechanoid units appear hostile to anyone who gets too close, but won't actively seek out people outside of their immediate area. Given that they show no compunction about killing people, the Marsilion Armed Forces are considering the mechanoids hostile and engaging with them where they appear.

Following a successful assault by the MAF, the Mech Hive was disabled and entered the atmosphere on 6/14/2026, breaking up and disintegrating. There may be lingering mechanoids from their raids that can pose an intermittent threat now and then in the future, but the threat of raids has ended.
